What I painted this week: entryway console
Last week’s Fabulous and Functional entryway blog post featured the Strut console from Blu Dot. The Strut is one of my favorite consoles, however, the structure and slate color were competing with the slatted mirror, so I decided to spray paint it white. This allowed the mirror to shine as the entryway focal point, while still incorporating the Strut’s sleek structure. Read on to learn more about this transformation in this installment of What I Painted This Week.
My favorite way to get an enamel-like finish is to use an epoxy spray paint, like Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy. It requires zero prep, besides cleaning off any dust, and leaves a smooth, durable, enameled finish. I used two coats here. The white appliance epoxy has cool undertones, so I wouldn’t use this alongside warmer whites.
Spray painting this console table was a quick, easy update with lasting impact. It’s my go-to for most DIYs featured in “What I Painted This Week.” What other spray paints do you like to use on furniture?
