RECOGNIZED FOR KITCHEN DESIGN EXCELLENCE

The Interior Design Society (IDS) Designer of the Year Awards is an annual program that celebrates the very best in residential interior design created by IDS members across North America. The awards recognize outstanding creativity, talent, and professional achievement across a wide range of design categories — from individual room spaces to specialty disciplines and business excellence. Melissa received the 2026 award in the Kitchens 501 square feet and above category.

Many thanks to The Interior Design Society for this honor. We’re humbled by this recognition amongst such a talented pool of interior designers, and grateful to be a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth design community.

SCROSS TO SEE MORE OF THE AWARD WINNING KITCHEN

The modern black kitchen is the most dramatic space we designed in the home. The goal was to create a modern space with functional solutions. The design centers around the beautiful quartzite slab that we wrapped up the backsplash and around the vent hood. We carried the reeded trim detail from the original house to the kitchen with a white oak reeded accent on the face of the island. We used the same materials into the breakfast room to tie these bold, beautiful spaces together, and create the feel of a grand, gourmet kitchen.
