DIY framed crystal wall art
A few of you asked where I got the framed crystal wall art. It was a DIY!
Years ago I went to the Round Top antique show and spotted a series of framed selenite wall art. I loved them, but at $800 a frame it was not an option. After a bit of searching, I created my own for a fraction of the cost.
The materials you’ll need for this project are a shadow box frame, E600 Craft Adhesive, selenite or crystals of choice. If you’re local to The Woodlands, I purchased mine at my favorite crystal shop, Mallott’s Hardware in Old Town Spring.

Step 1: Lay out your design in the frame. This helps to ensure your crystals are placed and spaced where you want in the final framed art.
Step 2: Glue and set. The E6000 Craft Adhesive works great to secure the crystals to most backing materials. As with most craft glues, make sure you use outside in a well-ventilated area. Glue one crystal at a time and press down securely. Do not lift or reposition the crystal once you apply the adhesive.
Lay the framed crystal wall art flat and let the adhesive cure for 24-72 hours. I let this piece cure at least 72 to ensure a secure bond since the selenite is heavy.
Step 3: Frame and enjoy! Use picture hangers or Command Picture Hanging Strips if you hang the art on tile like I did.
This project was easy, affordable, and turned out better than the art that inspired it.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you like this framed crystal wall art, but DIY isn’t your thing, you can also purchase from my Etsy shop.
