Favorite clean skincare
I first started taking care of my skin around 30. After trial and a lot of error, I found some effective products and started regularly incorporating them in my skincare routine. When I got pregnant with baby #3, I had to adjust my routine because most of these products weren’t pregnancy-friendly. Just because a product is touted as pregnancy-safe, it may still contain chemicals like parabens, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. This shifted my perspective on skincare; if a product isn’t safe for pregnancy, is it really good to apply it on my skin daily? I decided to clean up and downsize my skincare routine. I see great results with these products, feel good about their ingredients, and spend less overall than I did before. Read on for my favorite clean skincare.
Cleansing – Primally Pure
I jumped on the oil cleansing bandwagon and haven’t looked back. I use Primally Pure’s Cleansing Oil to remove make-up. Cleansing oils easily dissolve grime and build-up, and leave my skin feeling moisturized. If I need an ultra deep cleans, I’ll double cleanse with Primally Pure’s goat milk Baby Bar. I love Primally Pure’s products because they are committed to using “nature’s most precious elements to make non-toxic skincare products that support radiant skin, a healthy body + a happy self.”
Serum – Skinceuticals
SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is a vitamin C serum that provides environmental protection, lightens lines, firms skin and brightens your complexion. This serum transforms the texture of my skin. I only use this in the morning and is leaves my skin clear and smooth. It scores a 3 on the EWG’s Skin Deep database, which is my limit for skincare. A one oz. bottle lasts me around 6 months.
Moisturizer – Augustinus Bader
If I could only have one skincare product, it would be The Rich Cream by Augustinus Bader. It leaves my skin radiant, and absorbs quickly into skin. Of all the skincare products I’ve tried, this product is the GOAT (greatest of all time). I use it every morning and night, and the 30 oz bottle lasts me between 3-4 months. If you can only invest in one product, The Rich Cream will give you the most bang for your buck. They reformulated the moisturizer in 2020 so it’s guaranteed free of parabens, fragrance, SLS, SLES, DEA, heavy metals, talk, petrolatum, and mineral oils.
